Lex Oversteegen: Geometry and Topology
Topology, a core area of mathematics, studies topological spaces and continuous
maps between them.
As was shown by W. P. Thurston, surprising and deep connections exist
between topology and the field of geometry.
In this talk we will highlight similar connections between the fields of
topology, dynamical systems and geometry.
